Client mood tracking

A mood tracker for your clients that shows you what goes with their mood

Every Mendly check-in asks for a 1–10 mood score alongside the questions you chose for that client. Over time Mendly shows which of those things line up with their better and harder days, and you see it in your dashboard, not buried on the client's phone.

Why a generic mood app does not help you much

A client can already log their mood in dozens of apps. The trouble is that the data stays on their phone, the questions are the app’s rather than yours, and what reaches the session is a screenshot, if anything.

Mendly is set up by the therapist. You decide what each client tracks, and the answers land where you can read them before the session.

Mood, plus the things that go with it

Each check-in records an overall mood score and the client’s answers to your questions: how long they slept, whether they exercised, whether they saw a friend, anything you can phrase as a question.

For a yes/no question, Mendly compares the average mood on days the answer was yes with days it was no. For a number or a scale, it shows how closely the two move together. Patterns appear once there are enough days to compare: three yes days and three no days for a yes/no question, or five answered days for a number or scale. About a week of check-ins is usually enough to start. They show association, not cause, and are there to inform your clinical judgement, not replace it.

Built for privacy on the client’s side

  • Reminders never mention what a client tracks, how they answered, or a score
  • Client data is encrypted in transit and at rest
  • Therapist accounts use multi-factor authentication
  • Mendly signs a Business Associate Agreement with every therapist before they can add a client

Common questions

Can clients see their own mood charts?

No. A client you invite completes the check-ins, and the charts and patterns appear in your dashboard. Whether and how to go through them together in session is up to you.

How soon do patterns appear?

Once there are enough days to compare: three yes days and three no days for a yes/no question, or five answered days for a number or scale. About a week of check-ins is usually enough to start, and a few weeks gives a steadier picture.
